Overtaking ban on the M11 for Heavy Goods Vehicles above 7.5 tonnes

Published on: Nov 08 2018 at 06:03 PM

If you are a truck driver using the M11 between junctions 8 and 9 then Highways England would like to keep you and your vehicle in lane 1. The M11 connects major conurbations and provides access to important international gateways, carrying over 70,000 vehicles a day. The proposal to ban HGV’s over 7.5t from overtaking on the inclines located to the south of junction 9 near Great Chesterford is essential say Highways England to reduce congestion for all traffic, smooth traffic flows and ensure more reliable journey times.

This proposal is the subject of a public consultation which will remain open for comments until 29 November 2018, full details are available at highwaysengland.citizenspace.com
